This state park in Colorado surrounds a reservoir deep in the rockies but not to far off I-25. The drive in takes you through a small town where we stopped for a meal. The town is filled with gas workers working the many rigs in the area. After deciding we’re against all that […]
Got a wild idea to take a two-week journey and visit the Pacific Northwest — specifically the Seattle and Portland area. We’ve been talking about taking a visit out there for the last few years. And now that we’ve got the Pod, why not try to “camp-it out”. No hotel expense. We can take the […]
Nothing other than life in general. We didn’t post anything last year because we spent the summer planning and living a big trip to the Pacific Northwest (more on that in another post), dealing with a unexpected job change (but one that turned out to be financially beneficial – I should have left a long […]
Our next trip was another easy one, practically just down the street. I planned on a 45 minute drive leaving plenty of time to setup the first day. That plan was quickly erased can as someone flipped a cement truck on I-25 (he didn’t make it, BTW) which left many people exiting Colorado Springs waiting […]
Trip two is under the belt and things just keep getting better. This time around we chose a destination that didn’t require as many traverses over high mountain passes: Buena Vista, CO. Buena Vista is only about 1.5 to 2 hours from Colorado Springs and the Wilkerson Pass (9500ft) is the only pass. […]
It wasn’t the first mod we did, but it’s the first one where the photos are ready. I snipped the lousy speakers in the DVD/TV/Radio and wired in some bluetooth speakers with a bit more oomph, mobility and coolness.
Once I get the DLP projector hooked up to a Raspberry Pi I’ll be able to […]
Our first trip in the pod happened in June. It was a trial run, our chance to find what kind of trouble we’ve gotten ourselves into. Turns out it wasn’t much trouble. Except for the heat of summer, which required leaving the A/C running full time, we had a wonderful time.
Some things we learned:
[…]
This is a place to tell the world about our adventures with three dogs in a Forest River R-Pod. The dogs you’ve met: Reba, Bailey and Cody. Bailey and Cody are pure-bred Golden Retrievers, but not related. Reba is a rescue that we’re pretty sure is related to a Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever. […]
